Sensex weak in opening trades

The Sensex opened in the positive zone at 16,912 but however slipped into the red owing to subdued cues from the gloabl markets all over. The index is now at 16,870, down 42 points. Among the Sensex-30 stocks, Wipro is the major gainer, up 1% at Rs 681. Tata Steel, TCS and Hindalco are up 1% each at Rs 563, Rs 720 and Rs 144, respectively.
