Britannia slips on fall in net

The counter saw trades of 1871 shares as against the two-week average of 1608 shares. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------(Updated at 1003am) Britannia has slipped on the back of 37% drop in net profit for Q3FY10. The stock opened at Rs 1,566 and is now trading at Rs 1,575, down 1.5% from its previous close. The counter has clocked volumes of 296 shares on the BSE. The company declared a 36.95% decline in net profit to Rs 20.10 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2009 as compared to Rs 46.15 crore for the same quarter last year. Net sales increased to Rs 881.39 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 818.28 crore for the same period previous fiscal.
