Andhra Bank profit jumps 70% to Rs 274 cr

State-run lender Andhra Bank today said its net profit rose by 69.58 per cent to Rs 273.97 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2009, over the same period last year. - HPCL net loss at Rs 136 cr - Sun TV Network profit surges 20% to Rs 130 cr - Reliance Power net rises five-fold to Rs 194 cr - Kingfisher Airlines net declines 13% at Rs 418 cr - Welspun up 5% - Wipro rises 2% Total income rose to Rs 1,790.92 crore in the quarter ended September 30, against Rs 1,454.53 crore in the same period last fiscal, Andhra Bank said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange(BSE). Shares of Andhra Bank were trading at Rs 113.60 on the BSE, up 2.11 per cent from its previous close.
